STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS 2006!

Well, it's May already. The spring rains have greened things up nicely in Edmonton, while the warm sunny Alberta weather is trying its best to settle in. Just yesterday the sunflower seeds we planted on our balcony began to sprout! It seems an odd time to be so caught up with Hockey but the Oilers are making an impressive run. By unexpectedly beating the Detroit Red Wings in round one, and so far proving to be the better team in round two against San Jose, they have the city in a hockey frenzy!

Although I normally get to go to all the games I like, I am working and don't really get to soak it all in. Luckily though, Kirsten and I both went as fans the other night. I left the suit and tie at home, we got to wear jerseys, sit in the seats, have a coke and a dog while cheering along with everyone else. And, as luck would have it, Wednesday's game was one for the ages, a back and forth battle that went 6 periods before the Oilers scored the winning goal!

What a great time - GO OILERS GO!

LET'S GO OILERS!! Ian and I had an incredible flight back to Toronto as we flew West Jet and were treated to the game on our very own little tv's! Pretty fun to share ooh's, ahh's and applause with a plane full of strangers. It was so great to see the two of you and look forward to another visit at Christmas (perhaps sooner but no promises...). Take care and enjoy your time out east. As I recall cats dont' travel as well as most so make sure you have lots of kitty gravol on hand.
